Laughs for the Lord's Cupboard: Comedy Night at the FACC to benefit 'Thanksgiving in July' food drive, Friday, July 29 Night of comedy to feature Tim Sullivan and Tom Sharpe
Fairfield, Iowa — Laugh for the Lord's Cupboard with Comedy Night at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center Friday, July 29 at 8 p.m. with the hilarious Tim Sullivan. The Convention Center is partnering with the Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County for the 'Thanksgiving in July' food drive. Opening the evening of comedy will be the regional winner of the World Series of Comedy, Tom Sharpe.
Tim Sullivan is one of the country's most traveled stand-up comedians. Tim began his comedy career at the age of 19, performing in bars and clubs throughout the Midwest. Tim eventually moved to the Pacif¬ic Northwest where he learned from veteran comedians, began to find his own voice and picked up his first headlining gigs. Tim has appeared in various commercials and mov¬ies. Most recently on the HBO series John From Cincinnati. Tim has recorded two CDs and three DVDs. His most recent Bigger Than Ashton is a humorous take on dating the same girl as fellow Cedar Rapids, Iowa, native Ashton Kutcher. Tim has entertained audiences from the Improv in Chicago to the Laugh Factory in Los Angeles as well as the U.S. Armed Forces. You are sure to be entertained and leave the show with a sore jaw from laughing so much. Come see what the buzz is all about.
Opening the Laughs for the Lord's Cupboard Comedy Night is Tom Sharpe. Sharpe recently was the regional winner of the World Series of Comedy, winning a trip to Las Vegas for the National competition. Tom beat out 40 comics in 4 days to take the title.
The Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County distributed food to nearly 1000 households last year. Nearly 50% of those receiving assistance are under 18 years of age. The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center will serve as a drop-off point for donations from July 23-31. Non-perishable donations can be left in the drop boxes at the FACC during regular business hours.
The Fairfield Arts and Convention Center's Comedy Night is presented by the Lord's Cupboard of Jefferson County and sponsored by the Red Rock Tavern. Tickets are $7 with the donation of a non-perishable canned or packaged food item. Tickets are $10 without a food item.
